The mood board -- a set of images arranged to convey a concept.
In branding, mood boards can help convey the tone and feel a business wants their customers to experience in a condensed, concise, collage. Pardon the alliteration.
They provide inspiration when you are having trouble coming up with ideas for content, and they are excellent to refer back to for branding.
A great way to get started creating a mood board for your growing business is to start with this simple question:
How do I want my customers to feel after they engage with my brand?
Then brainstorm at least 5 words that describe the attitude and style of your brand. Pair these keywords with your brand colors and head on over to Pinterest to get some inspo. 👏🏼
This next part can be challenging if you're easily distracted like us 🙋🏻♀️ But it can also be super fun.
Go crazy.
Pin whatever speaks to you that is relevant to your keyword and colors, you'll come back and clean it up later.

Once you've pinned to your heart's content, it's time to go back and remove all of the bits that may have snuck in and aren't relevant. Ideally you want to get it down to about 10 - 15 images that really express your keywords, and that are in your color scheme.

Combine your favorite images with your colors in a mood board template (Canva has some great ones) and voila! Your new branding secret weapon.

Sometimes it's easy to feel lost in the dark forest that is marketing your growing business. Having a solid marketing strategy in place that feels authentic to your target audience is crucial. Ready to get started? Contact us here.
